Athens County Family & Children First Council

The Council evaluates and prioritizes services and builds community assets to achieve better results for families and their children.
 
The Council is established by statute to plan, develop and coordinate services. It seeks ongoing participation from families receiving services. The Council complies with policies and procedures of the Ohio Family and Children First Council (OFCFC). OFCFC is a partnership of state and local government, communities and families that enhances the well-being of Ohio's children and families by building community capacity, coordinating systems and services, and engaging and empowering families.
 

VISION
 
The Council encourages and nurtures the development of a continuum of quality, responsive services that help families raise every child to become a healthy, responsible, productive and law-abiding citizen.
 
 
 
BUILDING COMMUNITY ASSETS
 
The Council builds community assets by enlisting community leaders, child advocates, and family members to serve on committees and workgroups that identify community objectives and plan desired services.

 
MISSION
 
The Athens County Family & Children First Council strives to reduce the stress families face who have a child with severe problems, or for those who struggle with poverty, by providing: resources, prevention & access.
